Wild Bush Luxury, owner operator of some of Australia’s most inspirational bush and wildlife experiences, has unveiled a brand new full day experience from its Bamurru Plains property in the Northern Territory, inviting guests to explore the ancient Aboriginal culture and rock art of the Kakadu region.
The full day Kakadu Experience begins with a scenic flight to Jabiru in the heart of Kakadu where Bamurru Plains’ own field guide and new custom built vehicle will take guests to explore the park’s escarpment landscapes and some of the best examples of ancient rock art at Ubirr.
Following a bush picnic lunch, an Indigenous guide will lead guests on a cruise slowly meandering down the East Alligator River, providing an insight into 50,000 years of local mythology and bush survival skills as well as the traditional uses for many plants and animals. Back on land, there is a final stop at the Bowali Visitor Centre before guests return to the comfort of the safari lodge in time for sun-downer drinks and canapés as the sun sets over Bamurru Plains.
Wild Bush Luxury’s founder, Charles Carlow, said the time spent in Kakadu with its stone country and rich Aboriginal heritage is a natural complement to Bamurru’s floodplains and prolific wildlife.
“Our guests are always intrigued by the Aboriginal stories of the area and often consider Kakadu as an additional trip following a stay at Bamurru Plains. We wanted to look after these guests and offer them a personalised experience to truly immerse them in the indigenous side of Kakadu National Park.
“Our guests will experience Kakadu in comfort and style with scenic stops along the way and a chef-prepared bush picnic lunch. Our excursions are designed for small groups, which allows us to provide the ultimate service and experience our guests can expect from Wild Bush Luxury.”
The ‘Ultimate Kakadu Experience’ is a new package that incorporates this small group excursion along with on-site wilderness activities included in the ‘Ultimate Wilderness Experience’ package on a three or four night stay. Prices start at $3,450 per adult for three nights and $4,490 per adult for four nights.
