Millennials are topping the list as the biggest spenders on travel. Millennial travellers (those born after 1980) are spending a whopping $11.3 billion overseas per year, the most of any age group according a recent study by Westpac Bank. Aussie millennials love to explore the world in pursuit of amazing experiences, with the USA, UK and Europe being the most popular destinations, averaging a cost of $3,461per trip. Results revealed Aussie millennials need to plan ahead and make sacrifices in order to save enough money to make their travel dreams a reality.

New Caledonia Tourism says bonjour to its 2016 roadshow soirées

29 July, 2016 – Over 240 agents attended ‘soirees’ in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this week as part of New Caledonia Tourism’s (NCT) 2016 Trade Roadshow, however the events were very different to previous affairs with this year’s launching the destination’s new virtual reality (VR) experience.

In an exclusive partnership with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch, a new conservation unit and turtle hatchery was unveiled on 2 July 2016 with the launch marked by the release of hatchlings at 9pm. The turtle hatchery, located on the beach fronting Tanjong Jara Resort, offers guests the opportunity to discover more about these magnificent creatures, learn about the dangers they face and the conservation efforts made to protect their hatchlings, and return them to their natural habitat in the sea. A nest adoption programme is also available, where guests’ pledges will save a nest.

Helloworld and Qantas Group have announced a new two-year commercial agreement, building on a “successful” partnership with Qantas. The agreement with QF Group also enters new territory, with Helloworld signing a one-year deal with Jetstar, effective 01 Jul, the low-cost carrier’s first commercial pact with a travel distributor in Australia.
