The Luxury Collection announces first hotel in Tasmania

(NASDAQ: MAR), has announced the signing of a Luxury Collection Hotel in Hobart, scheduled to open in 2018 following a full scale renovation. Owned by Trawalla Group Parliament Square Hotel Operator Pty Ltd., this property will be the first hotel in Tasmania for The Luxury Collection. The hotel will reside in repurposed heritage buildings in Parliament Square, a new design-led, urban development that is set to revitalise the neighbourhood, uniting the city’s unique past with its contemporary culture.

The Chapman’s Challenge 2017 – a unique biathlon experience at Pangkor Laut Resort returns for its second year, with its race day on 13th May 2017; exactly 72 years after Colonel Spencer Chapman escaped. The Chapman’s Challenge, crafted to commemorate the British commando’s adventure on the island, is an annual race comprising of a 6.2km run around the private island’s roadways and through the two million year-old rainforest, including a 1km swim out at the award-winning Emerald Bay before concluding at Chapman’s Bar.
