Kenya has continued to see positive growth from the Australian market, further expanding on the 18.9 per cent increase reported over the first six months of this year, now reaching 25.7 per cent overall growth from January to September, 2016, compared to the same period in 2015.
According to the latest visitor figures released by the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), in-market campaigns and initiatives rolled out by KTB, continued trade support and a renewed interest in African safari holidays are all helping entice more Australians to Kenya, with September alone reporting a 42.9 per cent increase year-on-year.
KTB representative Bart Druitt said this is very exciting news and is a figure we hope to see grow even further in the coming months.
“We have been focused on promoting all the amazing things that a holiday in Kenya offers through digital campaigns and PR. We want as many Aussies as possible to tick a Kenyan safari off their bucket list so we are very pleased with these figures,” Bart said.
“We are currently working on an exciting brand awareness campaign that includes a documentary, editorial, advertising and digital which will enter the market in the coming months to further grow these arrivals, so watch this space,” he said.
